Well, to start things off, there really are no new happenings in our house these days. The kids just keep growing and one of these days I will get a chance to post some new pictures of them on here. Maybe by the weekend. Hey, we all have to have goals!
Andy's birthday is coming up tomorrow and will be turning 32 this year. Kaylie is pretty excited about it, but I think that is just because she wants to get a cake from Dairy Queen! I have to admit, the cake would excite me too! Andy is spending more time (minus the past week or so that he has been busy doing spring field work) working up here with me. We are still managing to get along, which I would consider a good thing and actually think we both adjusting to the situation quite well. The kids love having daddy up here because that means he helps with drop-off and pick-up at daycare! Plus, they get to spend a little bit more time with them. Andy is also finding out what it is like to listen to Kaylie and Jason's music a little bit more often. It's no wonder I break into "Mary Had a Little Lamb" in the middle of the day!
Kaylie is quite the knowledgable little girl. Her thoughts never cease to amaze us. In fact, this morning, while she was getting ready for school and Andy and Jason were outside in the tractor, we were discussing why it was that daddy had to work up the ground. I explained to her that it was because we had to get the ground ready to put the corn seed in to grow. She got all excited and said "because we are going to have sweet corn!" I told her no, that the corn was going to be for cows, to which she exclaimed "Yes, we are getting cows!!!" I had to yet again correct her to let her know that No, we were not getting cows, but we would grow the corn to sell to the farmers that have the cows. She looked at me, puzzled for only a minute, before saying, "oh, so we're having a rummage sale of corn for the farmers!" Where on earth does my child come up with these things!? Needless to say, I was quite impressed with her thinking on the subject, but also got a pretty good laugh out of it!
And onto Jason...our Jason is all boy, trouble and all! He'll be 2 in just a few weeks (hard to believe that is coming up so quickly!) and has a few new lines that he loves to use. The first of them being "No!" He uses this all of the time and it is getting very old! We have tried the "that is a naughty word," but that gets us NOWHERE! Next on the word/phrase list is "I go outside." He would spend the entire day outside given the opportunity! Between his trucks, the "wee" (Swingset), sandbox, go-kart and lawnmower, he is set! He just jumps from one thing to another. And speaking of jumping, that is another that he does all of the time now. Whether it is him jumping off of the furnature or jumping up and down in place, he is a jumping boy! His all time favorite phrase right now though has to be (drum-roll please...) "I NEED milk!" Last week he and I were in the grocery store and I happened to be on the phone with Uncle Adam, actually Jason was on the phone with him, when we got to the dairy section and Jason stopped his babbling and clearly stated, very loud and clear, "I NEED MILK!" That is his main diet right now! I thought Adam was going to pee his pants he was laughing so hard! He also got up one night (or very early in the morning) last Thursday, and we could hear him across the monitor yelling, "Mama, I need milk." We got up, changed his diaper and tried giving him some water to put him back to bed with, but he took one sip, pushed the cup back at me and said "no wawa, I Need Milk!" It is hard to get mad when you're laughing so hard. I don't care what time of the morning it is, this kid needs his milk when he needs his milk!
Other than that, there isn't much more going on in our neck of the woods. We are busy trying to plan out some camping weekends, finishing up our basement (we do have the carpet and ceiling in now) and spending time just hanging out! Looking forward to some warm weather to hit one of these days!
